Eight years ago, Kristie’s Jewels was a modest family-run business nestled along the downtown harborfront of Aruba. Back then, Anita and Ravi had no way of knowing how their journey would unfold. A LEAP OF FAITH
Ravi, who had already spent 16 years mastering his craft in the jewelry business, made a pivotal move when the opportunity arose to open a second store at the newly built Paseo Herencia Mall in Aruba’s high-rise hotel area. This leap of faith proved to be a turning point.
But it wasn’t just luck. Ravi’s foresight and instinct to embrace night-time shopping, a niche yet untapped by local jewelers, was nothing short of genius. With tourists strolling through the vibrant hotel district after sunset, Kristie’s found its unique place in the market.
When the adjacent storefront at Paseo Herencia became available, Ravi made another bold decision—closing the downtown location to focus entirely on expanding Kristie’s presence in the high-rise area. It was a risk, but one that paid off beautifully.
A PASSION THAT SHINES BRIGHT
Ravi’s passion for diamonds is the heartbeat of Kristie’s Jewels. His love for these timeless stones began during his gemologist training in both India and England, where he excelled at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Ravi's expertise and fascination with diamonds have shaped the brand's identity, creating a shopping experience that goes beyond transactions.
Ask Ravi about his approach, and his eyes light up. “A diamond’s brilliance cuts to the heart of the matter,” he says with enthusiasm. Every purchase is a personal journey for him, as he meticulously evaluates size, cut, carat, texture, and, above all, the brilliance of the stone. “It’s amazing how diamonds are so deeply tied to relationships and romance,” Ravi reflects, his passion evident in every word.
